What is Substack and How Does It Work?
Substack is a platform designed for writers, thinkers, and creators to share their work directly with their audience. It combines the simplicity of email newsletters with the flexibility of a blog. When you subscribe to River and Raven on Substack, you’ll receive posts, reflections, and updates straight to your inbox. You can engage with the content, leave comments, and even share posts with others. Substack allows creators to offer content for free, as I do now, but it also gives the option to introduce paid subscriptions in the future.
What is River and Raven?
River and Raven is aimed at helping people grow in their Christian walk. Inspired by the stories of Elijah 1 Kings 17:2-6 and Jesus’ teachings in Luke 12:24-28, this space is dedicated to spiritual formation and growth. My mission is to guide others through their spiritual journeys, offering insights, reflections, and practical tools that can be applied in everyday life.
As part of my journey, I’m currently pursuing a PhD at Kairos University. River and Raven will also serve as a tool in this academic pursuit. I’ll be integrating what I learn, exploring new ideas, and testing concepts that may eventually shape my dissertation. This blend of personal ministry and academic exploration is what makes River and Raven unique—a place where deep spiritual insights meet thoughtful, scholarly inquiry.
Why Substack?
Everything I share on River and Raven is freely accessible to anyone who subscribes. I believe in making these resources available to as many people as possible, helping others in their spiritual growth without barriers.
As this community grows, I may be able to offer resources, including the introduction of paid content or special subscriber-only offerings.
2024 Goal: 100 Subscribers
I am currently working on a book and one of the things that publishers want to see is if writers have any followers or people reading what they are currently writing. Substack can hopefully help in that venture.
I’ve set a personal goal of reaching 100 subscribers in 2024. This goal isn’t just about numbers; it’s about building a community of people committed to their spiritual journeys. I’m excited to see how this space grows and evolves, and I’d love for you to be part of it.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure. I’m looking forward to walking this path with you, sharing insights, and growing together in faith.
